Question No boot after swapping out RAM

So I was helping my brother with his new PC when he had some problems. First we thought it was his RAM, so I tested it in my machine and it worked fine. Next I tried swapping his cpu out for mine and it worked. Updated his BIOS and everything is good to go.

But now my PC won't boot after putting my original parts back in. It starts up, goes through all the LEDs until the boot LED, which stays on while the monitor stays black. All my peripherals turn on though. Any ideas?

I've tried a single RAM in every slot, tried the other channel, tried resetting CMOS jumper, left the CMOS battery out overnight and taking the cpu out to check for damage (none).

My next idea was to update the BIOS through the flash BIOS button on my I/O.
