I've already followed the 23 steps posted here (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems). Unfortunately, my mobo doesn't have internal graphics, so I have to use my GPU, which I've tested in another machine so I know it works. Everything is disconnected.
This build was working yesterday. I transferred it to a new case. Now I can't get it to boot. I've turned it on with no ram, and as expected, the speaker goes crazy. So I don't think the motherboard is in jeopardy. As for the PSU, on my old rig, I had a molex adapter powering the GPU because of space. I went back to the old PCI-E adapter, but tried the molex again to no avail.
I noticed it takes slightly longer to power down when holding the power button (the mobo has a power button of its own that seems to circumvent this.)
These are my specs:
Asus P5Q-E mobo
Q8200 CPU
5850 GPU
Seasonic PSU ~4-500W
OCX Revodrive PCIE SSD
2x1gb Adata ddr2 800
2x1gb OCZ ripper ddr2 1066
(ram worked fine in tandem)
My new case is a Bitfenix Nova. I'm also moving from a stock cooler to a 212 Evo dual fan. All 9 motherboard risers have been used. The mobo takes 5 fans, but I only plugged in about 3 on my old case (the rest through molex). Now I have space for all 5. Could that be too much of a drain on the mobo? What am I missing here? All I did was transfer the same parts to a new case with a new cooler.
