No boot sector on internal hard drive when installing 840 EVO SSD

I've tried to install the SSD, 840 EVO, however now that I've got it in the laptop (Latitude E5500), the error I get is: No boot sector on internal hard drive.

The steps I've taken so far:

1. Install new hard drive.
2. Placed the bootable Windows CD in the disc slot.
3. Turn machine on.

Alternatively I've done these as well:

1. Placed a bootable USB drive and turned machine on this way, same error.

I suspect that your laptop has UEFI and secure boot.

As I understand it, you can disable secure boot in the bios which I am guessing is what you need to do.
