I built a gaming rig and it worked first time (ok second time, after I plugged in the power cord). After 7 excellent months, I got a BSOD and it has not booted since. I can get into the BIOS so a lot of things ARE working. But when I exit the BIOS, to boot from SSD (only mass storage) or Win7 DVD, I get a black screen in text mode (blinking underline cursor). And that's it. The BIOS shows nominal voltages and temps. No hardware/software/firmware changes were made. I convinced ASUS customer support that it had to be the motherboard and they agreed. They seemed to lose my RMA return and sent me a spanking new one 25 days later. Same problem. No difference. I don't have a compatible system or parts to play swap-and-pray. Any ideas before I take it to Best Buy or Micro Center so they can not fix it?
EDIT: Well, I guess the system specs I put in my acct don't show up. NO OVERCLOCKING OF ANY KIND. Win 7 HP 64-bit SP1, ASUS Maximus V Gene, i5-3570K, 16GB (4x4) G.Skill Ripjaws Z 1600MHz, ASUS GTX660-Ti 2GB, OCZ Agility 4 512GB SSD, Samsung 22x DVD+/-RW OEM, KingWin Lazer Platinum 550W, NZXT H2 Case (they fixed the poor airflow problem of earlier version)
