I just built my first computer and it runs fine as in the fans work and I get one beep from it. I plug an HDMI from my Graphics Card to my computer and turned it on. First it shows up MSI screen then it says Using PCIE gen 2 and underneath that can't find any device. Then the next screen it gives me just a underscore for a second. Then it has the logo of 2.2TB infinity and it says press any key to boot menu as it loads. It doesn't matter what I press or if I let it load it just gives me, "No bootable device, press any key to reset." And I can't even get in to the bios to see if it detects my hard drive. I've tried switching out SATA cables and putting it in different SATA slots to no prevail. Please Help.

You can use a USB to install Windows or Linux. You need to make sure you use a USB2 port not a 3 as Windows 7 and earlier will not find the setup files when on a USB3 port. Don't know about the newer Linux...
Your boot hard drive should be in the lowest numberd SATA port.

Question, you build the computer, all shiny, turn it on, did you install an operating system on it? Without one, your hard drive is blank so you will see that no boot devices message.

You need to first boot from an operating system setup disk (Windows, Linux) then run the setup on your hard drive.

Thanks for the reply,
Correct I have no operating system, since I have no optical drive, will my computer detect a bootable usb to use in place of it.
