No bootmgr after harddrive unplug

hey guys i have a problem, i have recently installed a new cpu cooler and tidied up my cables, i have replugged in my sata cable but now i have the no bootmgr problem, all was good before this and now i cant start windows, any help

Make sure you plugged it into the same port it came out of when you removed it.

boot to DOS (Command Prompt) by hitting F8 just before the windows splash screen....
use the command 'fixmbr' - fix master boot record
then try to reboot

Hi,

If you have your windows xp or windows 7 cd, you can boot to that and go into the recover console. In windows xp you can try running fixboot.exe to restore boot sector and in windows 7 they have something called bootrec.exe.
