No CD/DVD-ROM driver found

I tried to play Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars yesterday, and got the message, "no CD/DVD-Rom found" I tried finding in device manager, and it wasn't there. I'v played this game a lot, and suddenly, CD-ROM is gone.

Are you sure the Optical drive is showing up in Device Manger?

also like a game that has 3 or so CD's only one is a play cd make sure you used it and not one of the rest .. [most times you got to use disk ''1'' ] anyway should state on the correct CD what is the play CD..

There is no CD/DVD-ROM driver. It disappeared. It's not the disk.

check the power and data cable to your optical drive or it maybe your optical drive has just died ??

It didn't die. THE SOFTWARE IS JUST GONE. It's gets power.

so your saying the game disk has been erased ?

cause if its saying ''drivers''' not drive then you must got corrupted OS cause the optical drives use standard built in to windows generic driver to operate them nothing aftermarket or fancy ?? basic device

may try a sfc/scannow

Omg....are you not understanding what I'm saying here? My computer is telling me that my CD "DRIVE" is missing.

good point . could be the drives firmware got corrupted

would kinda think if a sata controller issue nothing would work hard drive and all , but ????
