No CPU lever on motherboard?

Out of curiosity, I disassemble my old acer prebuild pc with an i5 3470 but when I remove the heatsink, the cpu does not have a locking or lever mechanism. Just the socket and being pressed down by the heatsink only. It's my first time seeing a motherboard without it when it is an intel board. Or is mine special?

I don't know why they do that, i think so you can't easily replace the cooler or something. I have had a few older Dell models that have the same thing but with some overly complicated proprietary cooler.

Nope. I can take the cpu out. That's why when I took out the heatsink the cpu was stucked to the heatsink with the thermal paste xD
