No desktop NVIDIA Pascal release on GTC? Wait for Pascal?

After Huang's keynote on GTC 2016, it seems there is no release of new desktop GPU (1080 what so ever). When will the new desktop GPU be available? Is it worthwhile to wait for the new card?

I originally plan to buy Titan X or 980 ti, but up until now is it still worth waiting? I mainly use the card personally for deep learning programming. I cannot afford DGX-1.

I thought they'd release info today too. All we got was dumb info on self driving car tech. I think the next even is next month (computex???) i'm sure it will be talked about then. I'd probably wait.

Can we buy the new cards shortly after they release them on computex 2016, the end of May? If I need to wait for more than 6 months, I would rather buy a 980ti now and sell it later on. What would you think?

We have no idea when the hard launch will be until they tell us. I'm not a fan of buying things just to sell in a few months, but that's me. that fact that we are even in the general area of launch, even if its 4-6 months out, mean I wouldn't buy anything at all. Unless you're gaming on a gt 730 or something just chill out and wait

My situation is that my old card is broken, and I cannot even use my pc for browsing anything. Is it recommended to buy a very cheap card for my general usage and wait for the pascal? I also consider buy a very cheap pre-owned card from eBay for my temporal usage. What do you think?

What cpu do you have. If you want to just get by with general browsing you can use the integrated graphics that built into your cpu if you have one. basically if you have any sandy bridge or newer cpu (excluding the extreme editions) then you have on board graphics. If you HAVE to game some right now, just get a 750ti for like $90-$95 and just play at 1080p to be able to game at all and then get the new amd or nvidia stuff when its out.

I have the i7 5820k without the integrated graphics. I don't play games. I mainly use GPU for programming, but I have the access to a server with Tesla K40. Although it is not convenient to send data to the server for computing, I can temporally use it for a while. I plan to buy a GT 260 for around $30 for my general browsing and computing without any workload on GPU. What do you think?

If you can get a working 260 for $30 i'd jump on it and wait for one of the pascal cards if its going to help you with other non gaming tasks. I thought you were going to game with it, i never used a gpu for compute tasks so i dont know if pascal will be better than maxwell at that task, but i'm sure it should be.

Great! Sounds like a good strategy. Thanks :)
