Hello all, I just bought a new tablet PC about two weeks ago from Acer, an R-14 touchscreen. I recently upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8, which it came with pre-installed. I haven't been able to find any answers, so I feel like I'm missing something really obvious, but I don't have a desktop? Before the update, I chose to use the traditional desktop, and that was the default interface. After updating, I just have the windows 10 GUI and no desktop. I used the Cortana button and searched "desktop", and all the files and folders that were on the desktop previously showed up in the window of file explorer. But no desktop button or icon was available for me to click or assign to my taskbar. I found out that laptops under 8 inches don't have desktop anymore, but my screen is a 14 inch so that shouldn't be the cause. Any help or ideas are appreciated! I just want to be able to use the traditional desktop as my default interface, btw. It seems to have vanished as an option!

Go to action center and turn off tablet mode. After that, you will be at the desktop if you close the start menu.

Note that putting files on the desktop is a stupid idea and you should always use my documents or another personal folder to store files. Putting things on the desktop is the easiest way to slow your machine down
