I just got my new gpu (rx480 8gigs) but after installing it on the mobo and booting up the pc, I get no display. Specificaly, a message pops on the monitor which (when translated) reads : "No cord connected".
Now another problem is that my mobo doesn't have an on-board gpu/display output.

Yes I'm using hdmi.
Now the specs are:
Mobo: gigabyte 970a ud3p (It has 2.0 pci)
Gpu: msi rx480 gaming x 8 gb
Cpu: fx-8320 (Oced to 4.4ghz)
Ram: 2 sticks of 4 gigs each.
I could get into more details but I think those are enough.

HDMI, I have just seen enough of these cases now, new builds and HDMI just won't work, if your display supports DVI please try that first, install drivers, set up things and try HDMI again, I just feel DVI will work. PCI 2.0 may be an issue, but give dvi a try.

Uhm, can you get your hands on a DVI to VGA adapter then? I don't really know if it will work, it didn't for me but give it a try. And see if you can get your hands on a DVI supported monitor, borrow it from a good friend or something to test it.

Figured it wouldn't work, I can't suggest anything else, DVI to DVI is all I can come up with right now.

I also forgot to mention a few things that might make finding a solution easier. First of all the psu is a corsair cx600 and this is not a brand new system. It did run perfectly well before upgrading to the rx. Onto drivers now. Before I removed my previous gpu, I went into safe mode, did a clean uninstall of the display drivers, then shut down the computer and removed the card. After placing the new one I encountered the problem mentioned above.
