[SOLVED] No display after swapping RAM and GPU

12GB DDR4 RAM
RX 480
500W PSU


I did add 4GB DDR4 which seems to have been a big mistake as my PC did not show a display on a monitor that has been tested with other PC's. I also swapped out my Gtx 750 ti for a RX 480. No signal to monitor even after swapping my 750 ti back in. RX 480 has chill so I'm not worried about the card as the fans are not spinning. Everything in the PC is working, all other fans spin, CPU and GPU are installed perfectly. I did clear the CMOS and replace the battery, not sure if I did it properly. Also wondering if a 500W PSU can power the listed specifications?

No. I tried the 4GB and the 8GB separately in ea slot, switching them also.

Sorry, yes it did work, running the 8GB stick and the GTX 750 ti. I wonder if it is possible that the RX 480 - 8GB is meant for higher reolutions and needs a proper cord even though the monitor I have is 1080p?

I am 80% certain that it is the RAM although it is brand new. 100% certain I will buy an ASUS motherboard next time.

mixing ram sometime work, sometime don't, buy a kit when possible
amd 300 series chipset are picky about ram

I bought two of the same RAM, only difference is one has 8GB and the other has 4GB. Do I need another 8GB stick? Those prices were a bit scary so I decided to settle with the smaller module.
