hello

i have found myself an old gt 8600 in my house and was wondering if i can run 2 gpus on my system but i have been facing problems where my gpu would turn on (fans would spin) but would not appear anywhere in windows device manager and linux ubuntu 20.06 hardinfo and shows a black screen on vga connections since it doesnt have an hdmi output i have also uninstalled and installed the driver several times

system specs

motherboard= msi p6n platinum

cpu= intel core 2 duo q6600 2.40

gpu= nvidia 210

ram= total 4gb of 1gb ddr2 800k run in dual channel each pair

psu= levicom 350w model MPT-A350W

the system works fine but doesnt work with the gt 8600 may i have some assisstance please and thank you in advance

Solution
depending on what version of 8600 you have you need a 450 to 500w power supply.

the Gt 8600 out performs the gt210 so ether replace the PSU with a bigger/ better unit or only run the GT210. Unless your needing the second card for more monitor output it serves no purpose to have it in the system.

I have similar problem here with 8600 gt, the display come put from on board graphics instead of VGA card when i plugged in..
So what do you mean from "so i found out i uninstalled the driver so i used vga to login in and installed the driver" im still didnt get it
Did you solve the problem?
