Question No display GFX card but has power and motherboard

I have a Custom build PC from 2013

Asus A55M-A Mobo

AMD Richland A-10 6800k CPU

2x Kingston hyper X beast 4GB ram

Gfx Radeon R9280x card

PSU Aurum 92 series PT 550M

NZXT tower case

Nocturna dual fans

1 TB HD


One day the screen started going green then the PC turned of and it wouldn't turn on.

After resetting it and mucking around a bit I got it to turn on but it had no display signal when turned back on.

After unplugging the gfx card it will display after using the integrated gfx via DVI


I cant get it to run of the gfx card at all.

Gfx card has power on both external 6pt vga points and the fans are spinning.


Things I have done so far include:

Uninstalling the drivers

Rolling back the drivers to 2016 Crimson

Installing latest drivers again

Manually installing windows update

Cleaning the whole PC- but not inside the pci slot, yet...

Using compressed air to clean the whole PC including the gfx card as well as manually cleaning the gfx card points.

Resetting CMOS battery

Checked bios is running pci first and integrated last.

Made sure all the wires to the mobo and gfx card are secure.

Checked Power and Ram are fine in both both bios and windows and no conflicts.


Atm it's working via integrated and I haven't reinstalled drivers as they were completely wiped via utility and gfx card isn't in devices.


I haven't cleaned the pci slot

I haven't unplugged the ram to clean (but bios and windows say there fine)

I haven't rewird everything

I dont have a friends PC to check the gfx card


Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Cleaning the dust in RAM and PCI-e slot and then reseating them would be a good idea, followed by CMOS reset.

If there's a spare PC around, install the AMD there and check if it works.

It's possible that your AMD R9 has overheated to death.

Tried cleaning the pci port and ram, no difference.

Updated to windows 1903 and updated to latest drivers but still no joy with the gfx card. It only detects and works of the integrated gfx card.
How do I tell if the PSU or GPU is the issue ?

Bro I am facing same kind of problem. Afte4 upgrade to 1903. There is no display in he start up but when I click the restart button it completely works fine. this is happening again and again
