Ok guys, I'm not too good with this kind of stuff, but not too shabby either... I Had a problem about 3 days ago, I have searched and searched the net, but am dreading the official answer....
I had a R9 280 (Standard card) inside my computer, the computer is running the following:
AMD x4 Phenox2 960T processor
4GB vengeance, and 2 other random sticks of ram i found, one is a mushkin (Working fine, overall 8GB)
normal 7200RPM HDD Sata
CX750M PSU Semi-modula
870A-G46 motherboard.
I was originally on team speak talking to a friend and playing stalker, with a stream in the back ground on twitch. Then all of a sudden it completely froze, there was no stuttering like sometimes, there was no re-occurring sounds or anything like that, it just literally froze. So i hit the reset button instead of turning it off just to see if it would reboot. it didn't.... has been stuck in the same state since.
I have no display what so ever, and the fans won't spin on the GFX card, I thought the graphics card was shagged (Excuse the term of phrase for those that are easily offended) So i decided to buy another card as a test subject, this time i purchased a GTX 1050 Nvidia Card.(MSI edition)
I plugged everything in, i made sure the computer was immaculate (Dust free and nothing getting in the way) I have checked over the motherboard 3-4 times, no signs of the PCB burning, no signs of dislodged parts, capacitors nor microchips. I have checked the graphics card, although i am reluctant to pull it apart. just in case i make it worse if it was the GFX card. The computer powers on, the board powers up, but i don't know if it is going past post screen as there is no display. someone mentioned to me to do something with the JBAT, "resets the cmos/bios?" not sure. I have tried switching cables as it's modula, chaning the 6-8pin connectors. the graphics card is actually getting power, but not working.
I have tried removing sticks of RAM and trying them individually. I have literally run out of ideas, please any questions, just ask, I'll be sat here all day awaiting a reply, as I have nothing else better to do right now.
Thanks guys, and thanks in advance.
