No display - Just blinking LED on monitor

Hi guys
I built my third PC but im having a problem as described in the title. No monitor display - Just blinking LED on monitor. The CPU and PSU fans turn on and operate normally.
I have checked the monitor in another computer and it works so it shouldn't be broken.
I have tried dvi and hdmi and both worked.
I have tried resetting bios by removing and reinserting the cmos battery after 30mins.
I have no video card atm so there is really only one set of sockets I could connect my dvi/hdmi to.
All components are new out of the box.

Motherboard is - Asus b85m - E
CPU - i5 4460
Psu - corsair vs650

What could be the problem? Been trying to figure it out for 2 days but got no where. Could it be cpu and motherboard incompatibility? As in Motherboard needs to be flashed (cannot be used straight out of the box)?

CPU is supported, so the issue is elsewhere. In single module configuration, try testing each slot.

Tested the RAM slots, no results =(

Remove the CPU and check the CPU socket for bent pins. If pins are OK, it might be a board issue. However, since under warranty, you can RMA both board and CPU.

If I do that won't I have to remove the cpu fan? Does that mean I Needa reapply thermal paste?

Yes to both questions. However, since they don't work (board and CPU), I don't see other options.
