I have an ASrock z77 extreme4 motherboard on a brand new DIY computer, and it doesn't seem to be reading the display of my brand new monitor. I'm wondering- is it possible that the ram I installed is incompatible? I have 1 stick of Gskill Ripjaws, F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL. It is NOT listed on the compatibility list for my motherboard...which is ironic, considering that Newegg bundled them together as a buy-one-get-one.
Do I need different ram, or is something else the problem? The instruction guide says that it needs two sticks for dual channel, but I had assumed it would work without dual channel with one stick. Everything else seems to boot- hard drive runs, lights, fans, cd drive opens and closes; I'm using on board graphics and do not have a graphics card installed. Thank you for any help in advance!
