Hello all! I hope you are doing well today.
For the past bit I have been attempting to get an Asus Turbo GTX 1080ti to work, however I cannot seem to get the card to output a signal when booting into Windows (There is also a white light on my board under the word GPU). I plugged a 2nd card into a secondary slot on my board to investigate (I have a 5800x so no iGPU) and I noticed in Device Manager that the card was nowhere to be found, I looked through hidden devices but no luck. Curiously I noticed a few days ago that when only having a single power cable plugged in the card can display an image (I can even access the BIOS screen) however I still cannot boot into Windows as I get a screen tells me that I need to have all power cables plugged in to the GPU. Here's a list of all of the troubleshooting steps I have done so far:
- Changed UEFI to CSM
- Set Secure Boot to Compatibility Mode when in UEFI mode
- Set VGM Detection to Auto
- Changed PCIE from Gen 4 to Gen 3
- Disabled ReBAR and 4G Decoding
- Uninstalled Drivers from previous GPU (RTX 3060)
- Used both DisplayPort and HDMI
- Hooking it up to an old TV with an older HDMI standard
- Tried the card in 2 other motherboards (i3-10100f, MSI B460m Pro- VDH Wifi and i5,12400f, ASUS Prime B660m)
Specs:
Ryzen 7 5800x
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
MSI B550m-VC Wifi
64GB GSkill Ripjaws V 3200mhz
Samsung QVO 1TB (Also have a QVO 2TB and a crucial MX500)
ASUS Turbo GTX 1080ti 11GB
Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 650W
Thermaltake Core V21
Windows 10 version 22H2 64 Bit
LG 32QN600-b 1440p 75Hz monitor
As of right now my best guesses as to why I cannot get this card to work is either that my PSU might not be quite enough to handle everything or that the card is overheating in some way (it does feel quite hot after I shut the PC down and feel the card), but hey, I could be completely wrong and it could be something else, I have also contacted the seller and I got the money back I spent and got to keep the card, so that's good, I also do apologize if it is a bit of a mess to read, it's been years since I last made a forum post, thanks!
