No display output from laptop to LG D2342P using hdmi cable

Hi, I got this monitor (LG D2342P) from a friend. I connected my laptop using the hdmi cable but the monitor doesn't display anything. But it works when I connect it to my xbox.

Sorry about the delay. I tried two laptops. Dell XPS 14 L401X and Dell Inspiron 15 7537. Tried different HDMI cables but same problem. I get no sound output when I connect the xbox.
