No display. Pc still working and the fans get louder

Hello. So i have a gaming PC and recently I’ve had this issue where my pc is working fine and all of a sudden I get a black screen (no display) and the fans turn louder I tried reconnecting all the cables and it didn’t work. But I found out that the computer was still running normal because when I clicked the space button the video I was watching continued. Whenever I reboot the pc it works normally for a while and then suddenly it all happens again and all I can do is restart pc. I hope I can get an answer here. Thank you

nvidia gtx 1080
Intel i5 6600k
Gaming z motherboard
16gb ram
250gb Samsung ssd
1tb hdd
650w psu
I upgraded the pc for almost a year and a half ago.

is the 1080 video card an evga unit. if it is there been recalls and bios updates do to bad vrm and parts on them causing the cards to fail and catch on fire.

take the videocard out & use the onboard video to see if problem goes away.
