I know there are a lot of these threads already up, but believe me I've tried every troubleshooting method I could find (yes, that includes the sticky on POST/boot/no video) apart from just plain switching out the mobo or flashing the bios. I've used pcpartpicker and double checked compatibility within each manufacturer's site. I've tried switching out the gpu with another pc, so I know this msi 970 works, likewise to all the cables and monitor. Not positive that the mobo has onboard sound, but even with speakers plugged in I haven't heard a single beep.
Any comments are appreciated.

Yeah, tried with one ram, no ram. Messed around with which slots I used. The mobo's manual didn't state to use specific slots, but I kept them at A1 B1 (opposed to C1 D1).
I've tried with both monitor and a tv. Used a regular hdmi cable and a dvi to hdmi I have, unfortunately don't own a standard dvi cable to test with.

"but I kept them at A1 B1 (opposed to C1 D1)."
I suggest leaving single RAM module and inserting it in a different slot that you haven;t used so far.
If still no go, try connecting a case speaker http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/newegg/12-201-032-TS?$S300W$ to the motherboard, start it with no RAMs installed and see if any beeps.

Let me clarify, I've used just one stick on every slot and every configuration of swapping around the two, it's just in the end that I left them on A1 and B1.

I will try to pick up a case speaker later today and try that out.

Oh, something I neglected to mention that may be important: my keyboard has lights that turn on when it's plugged in, but no matter what usb port I'm using (either the two on the case itself or any of the 8 on the back that are part of the mobo) it won't turn on. Does that suggest anything to you?

Alright, unfortunately no electronics place near me sells a chassis speaker and I'd rather not wait for one to be shipped when I could just exchange the mobo in the same amount of time, so I think I'm just going to go for a better quality one and hope that solves the issue.

Been a little bit, but yeah. I tried switching out the PSU and RAM just for safe measure. Turns out I actually wasn't giving the RAM all the push it deserved, but even after being properly seated I couldn't get video from this mobo. Traded out for the Asus x99-a and so far all's well.
