I have a built system that works fine right now:

  • Ryzen 5 2400g
    ASRock AB350M Pro 4
    EVGA 650W Gold PSU

I bought and tried to add this 1080 today (EVGA 1080 Hybrid Cooling)
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08g-p4-6288-kr

The computer works fine when I disconnect the GPU, but when I try to plug it in, the computer no longer puts out a display signal (Through the GPU or the MoBo). All the fans spin and the lights turn on, and it stays on, until I turn it off again. There's no status LEDs or beeping from the motherboard, so idk what's wrong. The only thing I found was that when I plugged the GPU without power, it pushed display signal and told me to 'plug in power for GPU and reboot.' I checked the motherboard BIOS and its up to date. I built this computer about a month ago, so nothing old, I am just trying to add this graphics card to it. pls halp 🙁

*fixed*

Solution
make sure the eps power cable for the mb is connected. in the bios look for primary display if it set to auto set it to peg/pci. the nturn on multi monitor support so both the onboard and gpu will come on.
