Question No display when cable plugged into graphics card but display when i plug cable into motherboard

So I've had a problem recently like 2 days ago i was playing my pc fine then i came back to it and the cable doesn't work when i plug it into my graphics card however it was just days ago i then plugged it into my motherboard and the display worked fine i checked my device manager and my actual graphics card was still recognised on display adapters but when i put the cable in on it, it gives no signal

Gtx 1050ti 4gb
I3-8350K
3 x 4gb DDR4 ram
asus tuf gaming z390 pro motherboard
1TB HDD
250gb ssd

make and model of the psu?
using hdmi/dp/dvi? any other adapter to the monitor?
test in safe mode?

I don’t know the exact model but pretty sure it’s 750w and I have a hdmi to dvi cable because of my monitors hdmi being broke and I haven’t been able to even get into safe mode when I connect the gpu

so the gpu doesn't work at all. test with another gpu and psu

No the gpu fans spin and it’s recognised when I check device manager using the integrated gpu just no display
