I have a gigabyte z97x-sli and 4x team zeus 4gb ddr3 1600

I can only get display with one(two of the sticks are a replacement) if I add the second stick I dont get display, I tried all slots and reset the cmos

Solution
Make sure your bios DRAM voltage matches what the sticks are asking for 1.5v probably. Also do all 4 sticks work when tried alone? What cpu?(Remember memory controllers are on the cpu)

they all boot up, with more than one no, like i said i always get everything turned on, HDD and everything boots but with more than one stick the monitor stays in standby no matter where i plug it or how many times i reset the CMOS and idk if i wanna keep doing that..

maybe..? but neither the case or the motherboard bring any.. when i place the MB on the case it sits perfectly on top of the screw holes... when i looked at tutorials there was no mention of them either... i think i'll get the MB RMA and if they still dont work just get new RAM

Well, lets use some logic. Is the plate behind the motherboard metal? (Conductive) I am guessing it's aluminum, so yes. Without standoffs what keeps the motherboard from laying flat against that and shorting out. Make sure you install the new one with standoffs or this will happen again.

i'l def get some

quick update since you helped me out, i tried the ram on different places
the MB is like this [cpu] DDR 4 DDR 2 DDR3 DDR1 i always assumed it be 1 and 2 and 3 and 3.. i put them in 1 and and its working(which is weird cause i swear i thought i tried that).

also i looked around the case, it has its own standoffs i just didnt realize that.

Sorry, I mean that i tried every combination possible, I tried the regular combination and the others, but for the hell of it I gave it one last try, I tried slot 1 and 3 and it suddenly worked.

I tried 4 sticks that didn't work, 1 and 3 dont go together according to the manual, they say its supposed to be 1-2 and 3-4
