I have a gigabyte z97x-sli and 4x team zeus 4gb ddr3 1600

I can only get display with one(two of the sticks are a replacement) if I add the second stick I dont get display, I tried all slots and reset the cmos

Solution
Make sure your bios DRAM voltage matches what the sticks are asking for 1.5v probably. Also do all 4 sticks work when tried alone? What cpu?(Remember memory controllers are on the cpu)

its running at default 1.5, i thought every ram was compatible as long as its DDR3

yes, everything boots up, i can even hear the HDD and everything connected to the pc go on.. the monitor however stays in stand by

6.Have you tried booting with just one stick of RAM installed? (Try each stick of RAM individually in each RAM slot.) If you can get the system to boot with a single stick of RAM, you should enable an XMP profile or manually set the RAM speed, timings, and voltage to the manufacturers specs in the BIOS before attempting to boot with all sticks of RAM installed. If your motherboard supports XMP profiles that is the best way to get your RAM running at its rated specs. Nearly all motherboards default to the standard RAM voltage (1.8v for DDR2 & 1.5v for DDR3). If your RAM is rated to run at a voltage higher than the standard voltage, the motherboard will underclock the RAM for compatibility reasons. If you want the system to be stable and to run the RAM at its rated specs, you should either enable an XMP profile or manually set the values in the BIOS. Many boards don't supply the RAM with enough voltage when using "auto" settings which causes stability issues.

From the guide above

its my first build.. but it didnt have any standoffs.. the case had couple of holes that fit into the motherboard and you put screws in them

its the NZXT S340
i did the breadboard.. same issue.. and i dont want to keep trying the ram cause the only way to get it to work when i remove or add ram is to remove them all add only one and reset the cmos(and sometimes i have to reset more than once for it to work) so it takes a while

i tried the one ram, idk how to mess with the settings in the bios tho... it runs at 1.5v and i changed it to 1.9 but thats all i know how to do, there is a profile in there for the XMP but i didnt know if i should use it, the ram says its 1600 but i see it running at like 1333 or something like that

Don't run your ram at 1.9 unless you checked the ram specs and it said to. Most 1600 is 1.5volts .
Put it back at 1.5 volts and enable the xmp profile.

I am wondering if the lack of standoffs in your build has shorted out your motherboard. I don't know of any cases that don't use standoffs.

i'll the try the xmp profile, im not running at 1.9 anymore.. when i reset the cmos it goes back to 1.5

I dont get any screen, monitor stays in standby, and its connected to my gtx 970

i did... they already send me the 2 replacements
