[SOLVED] No display with GTX 1080ti

Hi guys!
I'm here because I need your help! This week I decided to upgrade my pc with a GTX 1080ti, but when i connected it to my pc i have no signal in display....

This is what I had BEFORE upgrading:



Mobo: Asus B350 Prime plus +16gbRAM
Cpu: Ryzen 5 1500x
GPU: MSI RX580 8gb
PSU: Cooler Master 750w

New GPU: MSI GTX 1080ti gaming X 11gb

What I did during the installation :

-Open my pc in safe mode
-Use DDU to remove my AMD drivers
-Power off my pc
-Remove old card and put new one all the way in the PCIE express 3.0.
-Plug PSU in the GTX 1080ti (2x8 pin)
-Power on the pc
Result: No display with Display port...

After that....

-Put back my Old Rx580 to access Windows and BIOS
-Remove AMD drivers again
-Download and install Nvidia drivers for GTX 1080ti
-Update BIOS
-Put back the GTX 1080ti
-Clean CMOS
Result: No display...

-Plug the GTX 1080ti in the second slot which is not in PCie 3.0
-Power on and there is a signal to my monitor...

I sent my PC to a shop, they called me back and said to me that my motherboard and CPU were maybe not able to handle the GTX 1080ti...

I asked him what he did:
-Tested the GTX in 2 differents pc at 150% during an hour, the GPU is good

-Tried a different PSU nothing changed no display...

-Checked in BIOS but there was no settings about video configuration...

-Checked that everything was well plugged...

So well... After all these tests.. I'm here to request your help!

What do you think?
Is my CPU and mobo not good enough to handle my GPU?
Is it better to try 2 separate cable from PSU to GPU to get more power?
I'm clueless about what to do...

That explanation is BS, the motherboard and CPU can use any GPU you throw at them, might not perform as well as they would with a 5950X but that's beside the point.

It sounds like you have a dead PCIE slot. I would test performance with the 2nd slot to see if it's good enough for you, if not you may need a new motherboard.

I think he can get a display using the rx 580 in the pcie slot no?

Read it wrong

Might be a power delivery issue then, check the cable is plugged in correctly at both ends and use 2x cables.

Also have you tried the HDMI/DVI if the card and monitor have them.
