Hello,

Good day to all.

I am having problems with my video card.

The monitor is on standby when it is connected to the card (no display), but works fine when connected on-board VGA.

I search many articles and forums related to this case and seems that I am all mixed up with ideas. Some forums says that is incompatibility in the PCI-e x16 slot and some are PSU related.

Here is my PC's specifications:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2.71 GHz
MSI K9N6PGM2-V
3.0 GB RAM (1 x 1GB & 1 x 2GB Kingston)
Seagate Barracuda 500GB
CoolerMaster Extreme Series 500W PSU

Hope you can help me out.

Many thanks in advance. :)

Did you connect both 6 pin power cables to the video card? Your psu only has 1 so you will have to use 1 and then use the molex-pcie adaptor.

If that's not the problem, I would think that crappy psu is to blame. Your 500w psu actually has less amps on the +12v rail as my Antec 380w psu.

Either way, that video card will be severely crippled by that cpu.
