No display

my computer has a solid orange power or hdd ligh. all components are spinning but no display i reseated the memory and cpu chip and checked the voltage switch. please help

It would help if you provided more information about your PC

Make / model etc
Is it the HDD or Power led which is orange instead of green ?
Is graphics integrated into the motherboard or CPU or on a add in card ?

I have see several Dell desktop PC's which have orange power leds when the motherboard is dying.

there is an hdmi pci card and an integrated display port.
i tried removing it and putting it back in but no difference. and also running it without it

I expect this model Dell is over 10 years old and the motherboard has died
Look at the capacitors near the CPU socket. they may be bulging or leaking.
This would confirm diagnosis
(It has an Intel 810 chipset from 2000 and SDRAM PC100/PC133)

checked the capacitors and the USB ports for shorts but te capacitors look shiny and have no corrosion or anything hitting one another
