No Drives Were Found

I am trying to install Vista (32 bit) on my old laptop for my son to use. When I get to the point where I should be selecting where I want to install the OS I get this message: No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation.

I looked on Western Digital's website, but did not see any drivers. Frustrated. I appreciate any help.

You'll want to go to Dell's website and get the hard drive controller's drivers. Look for SATA or RAID drivers.

If that fails, open the BIOS on the laptop Usually DEL, F1, or F2, and less commonly F10 or F8. Under Advanced Configuration (Possibly Main), it should list the model of hard drive controller. Intel, or whoever, and they will have the proper driver you need at that part of Windows setup.

It wouldn't take any of the drivers from Dell. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the hard drive itself.
