Purchased HP win7 laptop 9/24/14. At that time, when you hit gold star on in upper right
hand corner, you got three tabs(favorites, feeds, history). In history tab i'd get entries of
recently visited websites.

Recently(don't remember exactly when) there is no longer lists of sites, just a search icon
which doesn't do much if you don't remember particular webpages.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if that help in resolving the issue.

a. Launch Internet Explorer.
b. Click on the gear shaped at the top towards the right.
c. Select Internet Options from the drop down menu.
d. In the General Tab browsing history settings, ensure History is not set to 0 (by default it’s 20).

Method 2:
Follow these steps to enable or disable Enhanced Protected Mode.

a. Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
b. Tap or click the Tools button Tools button, and then tap or click Internet options.
c. On the Advanced tab, under Security, clear the Enable Enhanced Protected Mode check box, and then tap or click OK. You'll need to restart your PC before this setting takes effect.

From what i read its a bug

history setting was 20 days. Advanced setting you mentioned under security was unchecked. The last section of your reply(Change security and privacy settings for Internet Explorer) along with link, was that just for general info. or about settings
for current problem.

Thanks for response..
