Question No HDMI sound from TV-box to monitor ?

I recently bought an Asus VG27WQ gaming monitor with built-in speakers.

The built-in speakers of my monitor work perfectly when I connect my computer to any of the input ports (HDMI 1, HDMI 2 or DisplayPort)

I want to use my monitor to watch TV so I got a TV-box (MPEG4 decoder) and connected it to the HDMI port of my Asus monitor.
I am able to watch TV but there is no sound whatsoever.

I used the same TV-box and the same HDMI cable to connect it to a regular TV, used the HDMI input and it worked with sound and everything. So, neither my TV-box nor my HDMI cable are broken.

The speakers of my Asus monitor are set to maximum volume, the mute is set to off.

Since I am able to get sound from the built-in speakers of my Asus monitor when I connect it to my computer via HDMI, why don't I have sound when I connect my TV-box?
Is there something I am missing here? I am quite experienced with building computers and connecting devices, but I have never encountered such an issue in the past!

Try disconnecting the HDMI cable from PC to monitor, so that only the HDMI from the STB is connected to the monitor.

Thank you for your input Phillip. I tried it but still it did not work. Still no sound!
It is so strange isn't it? I also sent an email to Asus about it.
