Hi, I'm currently having a problem determining what RAM I can replace my old RAM with.
In my PC at the moment is 2 x 'samsung 512mb 1rx8 pc2-4200u-444-12-d3'
And that's on a Dell 'Connolly E187242 F2' Motherboard, with 4 slots for this kind of RAM.
I *think* it's DDR2 , but understand that's not all that's important when buying replacement RAM. I discovered that DDR won't fit into my motherboard (the slots near the middle of the card's pins are slightly displaced), when I tried to put some old DDR RAM from my previous PC into this current one, trying to use up the last two available slots. So apart from it being DDR2, I'm not sure what other numbers and such are important, when checking compatibility. Ideally I'd like to buy 4 x 1GB sticks that can replace the ones - Probably used and from ebay (cheapy cheapy).
any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Steve.
