Hey, my motherboard is ( ASRock H81M-VG4 R2.0 )i tried to search on the internet to see if it's compatible with gtx 10 series, but couldnt find anything because the motherboard is kinda old. can you let me know if it's compatible with the gtx 10 series?

Yes, it's compatible.

Haswell-era board, but the lower-end chipset, so limited to PCIe x16 Gen 2.
PCIe is backwards compatible (the cards are gen 3.0), and it's not *that* old of a motherboard.

The limitations on new cards + old boards tends to be more UEFI related, and limited more to OEM vendors, not retail boards.

FWIW, I've run 10 series cards on boards older than that (X58, H61).

Nothing to worry about.

Identically to a Gen3 PCIe slot. GPUs currently do not exceed the Gen2 x16 spec.

As for outright "performance" in your specific case...... it'll depend on what CPU you currently have, how much RAM....and what "10 series" card you're looking at.

A 1060 is a very nice pairing with a 4460 and 8GB DDR3 - assuming you're not looking to game above 1080p, probably 60Hz.

If you want to play at higher refresh rate 1080p (144Hz etc) or even 1440p 60Hz, a 1060 isn't going to cut it - and I'd look to a 1070.

Equally, if you;'re gaming at 720p, a 1060 is probably overkill and a 1050/1050TI would probably be more fit for purpose (and cheaper).
