No image on screen.

I just built my first computer and all my components are running fine (as in each one's fan is running quietly) but when I turn it on, no image is displayed on the screen. I know for a fact that the monitor and cord are working fine, the mouse and keyboard do too, I have removed the RAM and experimented with that whole process, I have reset the CMOS or something like that, and I just don't know what to do. This is my first build and I've poured $800 into it. The only thing not connected is the dvd drive, is that important yet? I mean, I understand that I need a dvd drive to install my OS, but shouldn't an image show up on the screen anyhow? The first time I turned it on, it asked me to select a location to boot from or insert an operating system into the disk drive, but I had accidentally ordered a slim dvd drive and it didn't hook up right so I just shut my computer off. Now when I turn it on, nothing happens. Like I said, all fans run and the LEDs work fine so I really just don't know. I'm hoping it's just a simple thing. Also, my 24 pin ATX connector does not clip in. It comes out easily and cord has to be bent a certain way so that the plug part is tilted toward the back of the case. I have locked the ATX clip into place before, but when I do, it does not stay bent in the required direction. Here are my specs:

Motherboard: AS Rock Extreme 4
Processor: Intel-i5 3570K
Graphics Card: HD Radeon 7770 1 GHZ Edition
RAM: (2 X 4GB) Corsair
Power Supply: Corsair CX600
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM

Certainty strange...
1pull the board from the case and set it up on top of the box it came in (in case you don't have a workbench). CLOSELY inspect your parts and try using one RAM module in each slot. Use both video card output and onboard output (if there is any...I also forgot to mention that you must not have any drives or other components connected to the motherboard as you experiment in the post stage) if it still fails, call up ASrock and ask em some questions and get some answers...if you see anything suspicious let us know. Hope things turn out well for you.
