No image on second monitor!!!!

So today I got a monitor for the sole purpose for misc. things while playing games. The first monitor is a ASUS VG248QE 24". The one i got today is a Dell E2416HM G0RH1 24". The Dell doesnt have a hdmi port, only a vga and displayport. I didnt think it was big deal since I have a displayport to hdmi piece. I plugged the hdmi into the back of the gpu just like I have the main monitor(thru dvi) and im not getting a signal at all. I checked display settings and nvidia settings and the monitor isn't appearing. I have a titan x pascal and i7-6700k. If anyone could help that would be apperciated.
