Question "No input detected"message on the monitor when graphics card is installed ?

Hello, it’s my first time building a computer and I recently bought a GTX 1080 Armor OC and an i5-4570 and when I go to turn it on with the graphics card installed I get a "no input detected" message on my monitor.
I’ve tried connecting the monitor to both the motherboard HDMI port and the graphics card HDMI port but both bring the same message.

The motherboard HDMI works when I take out the graphics card.

I was wondering if this might be a bottleneck issue and I might have to upgrade the cpu, or something else?

PC Specs
Motherboard- MSI B85-G41 PC Mate
CPU- i5-4570 (stock cooler)
GPU- GTX 1080 Armor OC
PSU- Aresgame AVG Series 500w (new from Amazon)
HDD- Western Digital 1TB
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Monitor: Philips 1920 x 1080

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

We're going to need more information. When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

Since you have a 4th Gen Intel processor, you should be able to get display output via the motherboard's display out put ports but you will need to remove the discrete GPU from your build.

Moved thread from Graphics Cards section to Systems section.

I do get a display out of the motherboard when I remove the gpu.
Is there any way to get a display out of the discreet gpu with the gen 4 prossesor? Or would I have to upgrade the cpu?
If so what would you recoomend?

I think we need the model# of the PSU, you may not have enough juice to run a 1080
Amazon link to the PSU that I have:

I just bought the first one with what I believe had enough wattage and the correct connections that I needed.

I believe that the gpu has been running because i definitely feel some heat coming off it, can’t tell you if the fans are spinning or not because of the aio setup I have on it currently. (Didn’t come with cooler)
