No input when pluged into a tv?

I just built a computer for my fiancee and it works great when using a small monitor or tv. But recently we have been using it on our 40in tv, when its pluged in everything pulls up but we cant use the keyboard or any input in any usb port. The keyboard lights up and everything, but we cant type or use a mouse to select a user.

The post is a bit confusing, you said "everything pulls up", so the Windows screen is there and you can see the login info with your user icon pictures, or whatever you have setup? And it all works when you connect the monitor? No other difference at all except what screen is connected?
