No internet access after reboot on laptop - disable/enable restores it

I changed my network going from using a Comcast modem/router to using a separate router. Everything works fine on 4 computers, 2 phones and 2 tablets.

On one Win10 laptop, it connects to the network after rebooting, but I don't have internet. If I go to the adapter and disable it and enable it, it is fine. It is annoying to do that though. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I haven't let it sit a long time (more than 3 minutes), so I don't know if it would ever get internet on its own. When I disable and enable the adapter, it is almost instant.

Check for a firmware update on the router and a BIOS and wifi driver upgrade for the laptop. I has seen these issues and they tend to be caused by the network card and router not talking to each other and getting a DHCP address. I am thinking if you do an ipconfig /all command on the computer when it has the issues, you will see the IP on the device is 169.x.x.x instead of what it should be.

It's not odd, it just means that the computer is not getting a DHCP address from the router. I did a lot of searching when I ran into this issue one not just two computers but also a tablet, the fix was a combination of using a higher end network card and replacing the router firmware with a open source one (I have an ASUS router), after a few days, the issue went away.
