This is an ongoing issue that I've never solved. I do not have internet where I currently live, but get by with just using my phone. However there are times when I need to download graphics card or other drivers.
I have a wireless WiFi dongle and believe I used it successfully in the past, but very limited success maybe because I'm using Windows 7 ultimate and the only browser I have is I.E. 8. I would opt to try another browser, but I cannot get online to download, and won't have the option to go to another source and download say thumb drive, etc.., for a day or 2.
I realize my whole setup is outdated, but all I'm trying to is download an Nvidia driver. I know I used the same WiFi dongle in conjunction with my phone hotspot to do just that in the past, but was extremely slow. I went online and nothing has worked so far. One site recommend going to command prompt and entering approx 8-9 commands might do it. The problem is that on the fourth or fifth command there is the need to type (int) as part of the command. I get an error message telling me (int) is not a recognized command or some such response.
Any assistance or advice would sure be appreciated. Like I said I have just thrown in the towel because nothing has worked recently, and have just gone to a friend's house to download to a thumb drive there. I'd like to not be a pest anymore.
Thank you.
