I installed a new Network adapter into my PC after the on board one seems to have died(not sure at this stage) have tried what seems like every thing to get access to the net via the cable but no luck, I can get access via wifi through a dongle, also have looked around the net for the problem but there is nothing that seems to help, there are similar problems but none exactly the same, i am getting extremely frustrated. Any help would greatly appreciated.
I have some info that may help but not sure.

Is this the manual for your modem?

http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/DGND3700V2/DGND3700v2_UM_05June2014.pdf

And it is the only device (i.e., modem/router) that you have - meaning no other modems or routers: correct?

If it is indeed the only device then it is serving as both modem (ADSL) and router. If there is another device (modem, router, or combination) please provide the make and model.

The wiring diagram is shown on page 20 of the manual.

Start simple. Just get your PC up and running first as a wired device using a yellow port. Be sure to use a known working ethernet cable. And allow some time between each setup step. May take a few minutes for the devices to handshake and establish communications.

Also on...
Check your subnet mask on the Gigabit PCI Express Network Adapter.

Most likely should be 255.255.255.0 and NOT 255.255.0.0

Verify Default Gateway and DHCP Server are 192.168.0.1

Go into the adapter settings and change the subnet mask. Reboot and try again.

Also I moved my modem closer to my PC and plugged a shorter cable into it to make shore the cable wasn't the problem, Modem is a Netgear DGND3700v2 http://imgur.com/bK6IwON when cable is plugged into the any of yellow ports PC says cable unplugged, when plugged into grey port PC says Unidentified Network No Network Access, I had my PS3 plugged into the grey port and it connected and did a system update and I plugged it into on of the yellow ports ( one that had a light on) and it connected to the PS network, So then I tried the PC cable in the yellow port with the light on and PC says Network cable unplugged, possible problem with modem???

Also on the computer make sure that only the wired network adapter is enabled - disable any wireless adpaters.

You might, once the physical connections are in place, first try running the network troubleshooter. It may be able to fix things up on its own....

Otherwise, failing that, I would suggest doing a reset on the modem/router and starting over as if it were a new install via the User Manual. Not sure what all may have been changed due to previous configurations, updates, and troubleshooting.

Solution
That is the correct manual, I have gone through and tried everything and it seems that my modem might be stuffed, will go and get new one today and see if that cures the issue, I will let you know if it works, Thanks.
