No Internet Access

I bought new router/modem about two months ago, a Actiontec Wireless N dsl modem/router combo GT784WN. When it works, it works fine. My only issue is that I repeatedly get the yellow icon 'No Internet Access.' It happens every other day, usually. All I need to do is restart the modem, and it comes back. Except right now, it's been doing it for the last four hours. Sometimes it'll hold for ten minutes, sometimes a half hour, but it keeps coming back up, and I don't know how to fix it.

The lights on my modem are solid green, and the wifi connection on my phone will remain strong, yet my computer will have no access until I restart the modem. I made sure the landline and ethernet cables were in tight, both to the modem, the jack, and the computer.

See if you have any firmware updates pending for your router in question. Often times the issues are apparent on the device and are resolved with subsequent firmware patches/updates. Also make sure your networking drivers on your desktop are up to date.

I'm have the latest drivers for the modem, so it says when I checked under device manager.

As for the firmware, there is an update available. I currently have NCS01-1.0.12, and the upgrade is for .14. Interestingly enough, reading the comments comes up with a few other people that have my very same issue, and the upgrade didn't fix the issue. Some also say that it made things worse, so now I'm leery of it.
