No Internet connection after CPU upgrade

After upgrading my CPU everything seems to work except my Internet connection.

How can the two be connected?

Are you connecting via Ethernet or a wireless card?

Ethernet. On the same old mobo.

Do you have another computer to test if the Ethernet is actually providing internet? If it is the computer's problem, try using the motherboard's driver CD to reinstall the Ethernet controller.

This system seems to be connected to the LAN but not the Internet. I'll try the driver reinstall.

I have no clue. My only thought is that the CPU could've changed some stuff with the motherboard bios and it just needs a simple driver reinstall.

Ah! The "fiddle factor." That's when you you don't know exactly how things are connected, try stuff until it's fixed, then move on like you know what you were doing all along.

That's been my approach for years. Thank you for the help. Please keep helping because I'm running out of things to fiddle with and I don't want to try swapping back the old CPU.

Now I have to figure out where the drivers are on the mobo cd.
