I updated from windows 7 to windows 10 yesterday and ever since I haven't been able to connect to the internet. I always get a message that pops up that says XFast LAN Driver Failed and it says it needs to be re-installed. It took me ages just to get it to uninstall but now it won't let me reinstall the XFast LAN Driver from my ASUS MOBO driver disk. I've tried everything to get the internet to work properly but with no successful results. Can anyone help?

I downloaded all the files on my laptop onto a USB device and then transferred the files over to my PC to which I then moved the files into the C:\Program Files\ASRock XFast LAN (something like that) but I'm still getting the XFast LAN Driver Failed message. This my first time downloading online drivers and transferring from multiple devices so I may have done something wrong. Does anyone know where exactly I need to move the files to?

From the link:

Download the Lan driver.
Transfer the zip file. Open the zip on the window 10 pc and extract the folder to the desktop.Open the folder you just extracted. Then run the Autorun.exe.

I got most of the drivers for my adapter updated except for the LAN driver which would just continuously download and would never finish. I let it download for over 2 hours. The file size is only about 200 Mb so it shouldn't take that long to download. Does anyone else have any ideas on what I can do to get my internet working again. The complexity of my internet problem baffles me. Normally, issues like this are solved fairly quickly and without difficulty.

I started out with Windows 7 and I upgraded to Windows 10. The notification for X Fast Lan popped up. I saw that my internet didn't work and couldn't find a solution so I decided to switch back to Windows 7. Windows 10 had a program to revert back to Windows 7. I used it and found that my internet still didn't work.

At first, I mindlessly searched through forum posts with similar issues.
Inputted some commands in CMD to reset the v4/v6 IP address thing.
I reinstalled my LAN drivers and deleted my eset nod 32 with no success.
Checked the power cords and reset the router/modem.

The only thing that changed was the windows files.
I plugged in my Win 7 installer in my USB and reinstalled it.
Back to normal now

This solution is for those who want to revert back to Windows 7.

HI Suztera, I have downloaded the LAN driver for Windows 10, but I get this error:
cannot install drivers. No Intel® Adapters are present in this computer.

I then went & searched for an adapter - but then get this error:

There is an issue with Microsoft Windows 10 that prevents the Intel ® Advanced Network Services (Intel ® ANS) feature from working correctly. You may install the feature, although you will be unable to creat Intel® ANS Teams and VLANs. Do you wish to install the feature?

Any ideas?

Win 7 To Win 10 with no internet service after upgrade:
Go to Settings...Network & Internet...Proxy. Make sure that ONLY Automatic Proxy Setup is enabled.
I tried everything i read on the internet, and even rolled it back to windows 7, then re-installed Win 10.
NOTHING worked. I happened to be looking thru Settings just now, and under Proxy, I noticed that BOTH Automatic Proxy Settings AND Manual Proxy Settings were enabled.
I thought, what the hell, I'll disable Manual Proxy Setup and see what happens. THAT WAS IT! At least it worked for me, and I hope it might help someone else.

I would just like to note that anyone who is having the specific problem with LAN driver, all you have to do is download the Windows 10 driver from ASRock website and that will fix the internet issue. I do not know why it did not work immediately after installing the updated driver. I did take my PC to a local computer shop but all they did was turn on my PC and connect to their internet and for some magical reason my internet decided to work there and every moment afterwards back at home. Thanks to everyone who helped solve this issue of mine and I hope this thread will help others with the same issue!
