no internet connection

Hello
We have two laptops and a tablet. One of the laptops and the tablet connect to the net no problem. The other laptop dropped the connection a few days ago and now will not connect. It shows a connection to the router but also shows a broken connection between the router and the internet.
I have spoken to Plusnet without success. Can anybody help
I forgot to say that the laptop is running windows7

Do you tried to update windows service pack? Check the network drivers, does all of them works right?
