no internet connection

Lap top with win 10 connected to Wi Fi will not connect to inetrnet. every time itry google or ie i get "not connected to internet" . I can launch skype and google earth

How recent is this? Everything was working fine before or is this a new laptop? The Windows Creators update might have messed something up.
