No internet connection

Just got an Asus 970 pro gaming aura used the included disc for drivers no internet connection I got the drivers right from Asus website and still have the same problem I'm running Windows 7 64 bit my lan port is enabled thru the bios

Check device manager to see if the network adapter is recognized by the system and to verify that the drivers installed correctly.

Shows it the only one under network adapters and says device is working properly

Is the cable plugged in correctly, are there lights on the port? Open CMD and type "ipconfig /all" in it, what does it say?

There is only one way the Ethernet plugs in lol and yes it has a solid light and a blinking light up config shows the same name under device manager idk what else I'm looking for in there

You're looking for a connection to your router. If that works and your local area connection is displaying a "default gateway" IP address, then your motherboard and the drivers aren't a problem.

It does not have anything under default gateway it is blank

Then you need to go check if the system is getting an address from the dhcp of your router, according to this guide.

Then the problem is in your router. Check from the LEDs that the router both recognizes your pc and that the DSL connection is active.

So internet from the router works my phone works out. The wifi and my PS3 is connected just fine thru the Ethernet cable

Yes all the lights on the modem are normal

Then you need to check the router's admin panel and see if the computer is recognized.

It shows my PC in the device table from when it had the old mobo but other wise it does not show my PC connected to it right now

When I open the x icon in the tray it has unknown the dependency service or group failed to start if that helps

So I have the dependency service or group failed to start I've tried doing the CMD lines they do not work when I try msconfig and startup normal I get a message saying error invalid command line
One of the guides said go and turn all the services on manually the DHCP one says access denied and the network location awareness says error code -1073741288 then in event viewer I see the same error code all over and one that says wmpnetworksvc did not start correctly due to error 0x8007042c restart and try again another that says dcom got error 1068 attempting to start the service netprofm with arguments " " in order to run the server: {A47979D2-C419-11D9-A5B4-001185AD2B89}

Did you format and reload windows, or did you use a pre-existing hard drive from your old computer?

I just swapped mobos
