Hi
Got smart tv sony Bravia KDL 40EX650
cannot access internet via LAN cable
the cable is a strait cable
after I put in the IP address I get wire ok, local connection ok but internet connection fail.
IP 10.0.0.3
Gateway 255.255.255.0
Default 10.0.0.3
Primary DNS 192.68.1.1 I get this address from TV after I put in 255.255.255.0
secondiary DNS 0.0.0.0

Your settings seem mixed up. First, what is the gateway address of your router -- it isn't 255.255.255.0, that is the subnet mask. If the TV has a static IP of 10.0.0.3, your gateway should be 10.0.0.1 and you would also have to set the static TV address in the router. Does the TV require a static address, and does it require that network (the10.x.x.x)?

Since you are using 192.68.1.1 (and I think you mean 192.168.1.1) for primary DNS, I am guessing that is your actual router gateway address, as it is commonly used. The TV needs to be on the same network as the router, so the first three octets (the first three numbers in a.b.c.d need to be the same and the last needs to be different with the router gateway d = 1).

Please clarify on these.

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.2
Gateway 10.0.0.3
PDNS 192.168.1.1

If I change any of above me local conn fall away

Okay, got it. Now with the TV, are you setting a static address or having it obtain an address automatically? If you set a static address in the TV, you also need to set it in the router using the MAC address of the TV.

For the Primary DNS you should also allow that to be automatically assigned on a small home network (and it should get assigned the router gateway address). If you have to assign a specific value, the primary and secondary that I usually use (the Google iPv4 public DNS) are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

thank for trying to help but I don't get it up. I put the mac address in TV

LAN IP Setup

LAN TCP/IP Setup

IP Address . . . 10.0.0.2
IP Subnet Mask . . . 255.25.255.0

Use Router as DHCP Server
Starting IP Address . . . 10.0.0.3
Ending IP Address . . . 10.0.0.254

Address Reservation

# IP Address Device Name Mac Address
1 10.0.0.9 SMART TV 54:53:ED:87:51:21

IS THIS CORRECT:

If I put the tv on obtain outo it does not get any thing
Must my lan cable be straight or twisted
at the moment the tv see the lan between the tv and router and it see the local connection (lan cable is straight)

Thanks

TV settings (from above your settings with my comments)

IP 10.0.0.3 (If you give the TV a reserved address of 10.0.0.9 -- then use that in the TV also! -- they must be the same in the TV and router)

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.2 (this has to be 255.255.255.0)

Gateway 10.0.0.3 (you said your router gateway address is 10.0.0.2, change this to 10.0.0.2 also)

PDNS 192.168.1.1 (change this to 196.43.34.190 or to 8.8.8.8)
SDNS 0.0.0.0

For the router gateway, I think you mean 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask right?

On one of your computers, check your gateway router address by typing ipconfig /all into the command prompt window. From what you say it should return 10.0.0.2 as the gateway address -- does it?

Your LAN cable is probably fine and does not need to be straight -- to be sure test it with a computer, attach the computer to the router and see if it works.

I did every thing you told with no success

TV still said

Connection OK
Local con OK
Internet con FAIL

Even the tech at Sony have no answer for me.
When I put the lan conn that I took out from the TV and put it in my laptop I can connect to the internet.

When I found out the problem one day I will share it

Thanks for your time

Finally my problem is resolved.

From the start I used a strait lan cable. I decided to changed it to a crossover and wolla its working.
I reset TV to factory settings and let it start up with the internet.

Thanks
