[SOLVED] no internet with ethernet cable but it's fine with wifi

Hello guys!
So I have just got an ethernet cable since my internet speed was way too slow with a WiFi connection using a dongle.
I have connected the PC to the router (it's a modem and router 2 in 1) with an ethernet cable but there is no internet now, I can't see any networks only the Wifi works. I have no idea what could be the problem.

does it get an ip address on the Ethernet connection?

did you activate lan card on the board and try to reset router to see if it wil detect the lan cable plug in you might have to check your router settings to see if lan is not disable .

Gigabyte B250m DV2 mobo
8 gigs of ram
i5 6500
500gb hdd

it does not get an ip

it is on your motherboard as a chipset and need driver for it from motheboard maker .
