Hello, I really need some help with this. First of all, Thank you for taking the time to read this rather long question.

Okay, let's start with some background information...
modem 4 ports, one switch is connected to one of it's ports.. Everything worked fine.
I have one ethernet cable on my room, But allot of devices ( weak wifi). So I bought myself another switch ( TL-SG105 ). I was having allot of issues . Always when I started my pc in the morning I Couldn't get an I[p... So I thought maybe because the switch is direclty conected to the switchs.. is causing problems...

I changed the cables -> So now cable is going directly from the modem in my room > switch > devices. And guess what every morning when I reboot, I get no dam internet connection (again).
when I try to fix the problem with the build in solver i get the error (changes)
1; No ip-configuration, then it fixes itself. (but seem to get a 169. ip so dhcp related?)
2; Everythying looks to be configuerd correctly, but Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (Microsoft.com)is not responding.
When I got the second error the only way to fix it is rebooting my pc and rebooting my switch.
All my other devices seem to work without problems.. ( Tv/ps4/digital tv works fine, hadn't had any errors on them)

Extra information: I keep getting a 169. Ip adress,...

What I tried :
1. Rebooting the modem
2. Looking @ services -> DHCP server is on / restarted it.
3. CMD > Ipconfig /release > ipconfig /renew. ( example of ip config)

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : home
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80:............
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.5 ( this one seems fine)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

Ethernet adapter Ethernet 2:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80:....................
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 169.254.................
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

I'am not that good with networking, so this questions can look odd, but why Do I have 2 adapters...? I only have one Ethernet port, and no WiFi . + Keep in mine that I know some basic elements about networking, So when you provide me an answer please make it understandable!

Thanks allot , If you can help me with this you'll be my internet Hero!
Having an exam in couple of days and this is taking to much energy. a

regards
Massimo.

try opening the control panel and going to the Network and Sharing Center and then click on Change adapter settings. Check if you have a second adapter there and if you do then disable it. If your pc detects to configurations like it is currently doing then you might be running into random network issues because of that. Btw that APIPA address 169.254............. is an internal auto allocated address that the card is giving to itself when it is not able to reach the DHCP to get an IP address so, in your case, it make sense you might be getting that since you only have one cable connected.

I hope this helps you out :)
