Just updated my drivers on my laptop, and now the keyboard does not work on the logon screen

This is odd as it is only on the logon screen and can be fully accessed in the BIOS and the safe mode options screen (via shift and restart on the on screen keyboard)

When in safe mode, the same problems are still present.

I can use the touchpad and an external mouse, and am yet to try the external keyboard,or attempt to use the keyboard once logged on.

any help appreciated

Solution
Use the on screen keyboard to sign in.
Go to the Device Manager and under Keyboard, right click your keyboard device and select Uninstall. Reboot.

This method did not work, however did help in finding the resolve to my problem:

In device manager a driver was appearing to be faulty in the HID Devices section,by uninstalling the aforementioned device the system was back to normal.

The faulty driver is named "Intel ELAN EzTouchFilter driver" If it is of any use to anyone in the future

This was most likely because of the fact that i dont use a ELAN touchpad ! (or know what it is)

Again, thanks for the effort,it has been appreciated.
